We are measuring happiness across the Cowichan Region. The Happiness Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to energizing organizations to engage in the happiness movement, defines happiness in terms of one's satisfaction with the circumstances of their life. These circumstances include community, social support, work, standard of living, time balance, environment, culture, government, and psychological well-being. Using the Happiness Index survey, we are able to gain comprehensive and scientifically valid wellbeing  data to understand how the Cowichan community measures happiness, finds happiness, and how the Cowichan  Region's happiness compares to towns and cities around the world. This is especially important to monitor in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic as loneliness, financial insecurity, and pre-existing mental health conditions became more exposed during times of social isolation. By taking the 12 minute anonymous survey, you contribute to an understanding of happiness that helps guide our society for present and future sustainable happiness.
