The Journey

of our

Generation

Cultural Connections has a story to share about our reconciliation journey - its highs and lows, the emotions it stirs up and the unimaginable gifts. Reconciliation is a big word. The Elders remind us that it is a process, a journey without one single road or a final destination. It is not always easy or comfortable and it is sometimes confusing and frustrating, yet worth every step.

The Cultural Connections Elders have reached thousands of residents of Cowichan and elsewhere who have participated in our Journey of our Generation workshops to understand the impacts of colonization, and what it means to begin to reconcile Canada's history. Our Cowichan 101 activities, such as canoe journeys, share Cowichan cultural teachings and practices.

Workshops are currently being offered through zoom and outdoors ( weather permitting).
