Community Safety is defined as the right of all individuals living, working, or visiting the Cowichan Valley Region to go about their daily life without fear of harm or injury. We, at Social Planning Cowichan, would like to see all members of our communities involved in creating safer spaces for themselves and others.

On June 19th, approximately 100 parents of current and future students attending Cowichan Secondary School met with local organizations to address concerns about community safety in the Beverly Alexander neighbourhood. Overall, the event was a success with many parents responding with positive comments in a post-event survey.
